Brand New Day was started as a “diverse electronic pop” side project for Joe Ramey in 2004 away from his main band, EuroVision, which did “dark electronic pop”. But in late 2004, EuroVision went their separate ways, and Joe was left with BND as his only band. Learn the full story here.

Getting Free Traffic: 11 Simple Methods
As my father used to say, “Money and Time are the only real assets in this world.” Buying traffic is clearly the simplest means of driving traffic to your website. But you probably don’t have a lot of money to use for building traffic. I didn’t when I started, either. So, you will just have to invest your other asset - time.
I am giving you some techniques to build traffic that take a lot of time, but they are absolutely free and will result in a good amount of targeted, not generic, traffic. You will shortly be making enough money to buy traffic if your site is correctly optimized to produce profits. Once you have this rolling and can afford to buy traffic, you will have the time to build more websites.
So, here are the 11 techniques that are surefire free traffic getters:
Here is a tip that is so often passed up, I am not even numbering it: submit your website to as many search engines as you can including the big ones such as Google, MSN and Yahoo.
1. This technique is known as Bummarketing and has proven to work. Write a number of articles, say 5 to 10, and use free article directories to submit them. To make this work, you need to do two things: optimize the articles for at least one keyword that your site targets and be certain to include a link to your website in your bio box.
2. Leave relevant comments that include a backlink to your website on blogs you find that are related to your topic. Go to answers at yahoo-dot-com and find questions related to the topic on your site and answer them. Also, locate, join and become active in posting in popular forums that are focused on your site’s topic. Be sure to include your site’s link in your signature.
3. This can have a significant impact. If you are not familiar with press releases, take the time to research how they are written before you attempt it as they are not written in the same was an article is. After you know how, write a press release. Then submit a few variations of it to a few press release sites along the lines of prweb-dot-com.
4. You may know of a product or service you have used and like. Offer to write your unbiased testimonial in exchange for a backlink to your website.
5. This is a good one since blogs are so popular. Start your own blogs on wordpress-dot-com and blogger-dot-com. Be sure to put a link back to your website in them and submit your blogs to the many blog directories that are available for free. Keep your blogs updated regularly and you will pull in an abundance of traffic.
6. There are quite a few free classified ad sites such as craigslist-dot-com where you can post ads with your link. Live links can be posted in the best ones but post in the ones that don’t allow it anyway. Write a good ad and people will be motivated to copy and paste or type your web address in their browsers anyway. Be sure you put your ad in the right category or it can’t help you much.
7. Get traffic every time you send an email by putting your site’s link in your email signature. This is an easy one!
8. Social bookmarking sites such as Myspace are good places for traffic generation. Start a page on as many as you can find and be sure your link is posted there in an easy to find place. Squidoo is another good option. Open some accounts and create relevant lenses to your site the include your link.
9. Youtube is a great place to submit a viral video. You don’t even need to be knowledgeable in video production, just create a simple, relevant slideshow in powerpoint, include some nice background music and it will get the job done nicely.
10. Use Google to search your main keywords. This will help you find related sites in the top results that might allow you to exchange reciprocal links.
11. Write a short report or ebook up to 20 pages or so, or find one that has the rights brand it with your link and give it away. Then locate several free ebook directories and submit it. This can be repeated with several such ebooks or reports.
Though not free, this tip is worth putting a little money into. Make a list of variations or misspellings of your own domain name and/or those of some of your competition. Buy a good one that is available and use it to send traffic to your site through redirection.
Looks like a lot of work, doesn’t it? It is but you don’t have to do all of them, al least not all at once. Choose one or two you feel comfortable doing and do those now. Commit half an hour to an hour every day to free traffic building. Then choose another one or two once the first two are established and before you know it, you will have enough money to buy traffic. Then you will be able to focus your efforts and time to build up your internet business.

Educational Toys - How They Evolved
The modern day busy parent tries to compensate for his or her lack of time for his or her children by investing a great deal on education. Thus, it is not a surprise how many of such parents move mountains just to provide their kids entertaining products that not only encourage play, but also instill discovery and learning.
Makers of toys worldwide recognize this growing trend and are, consequently, coming up with new and improved lines of children’s educational toys and games almost every month. What was once limited only to specialty toy and game shops, educational toys and games are now a staple in every children’s oriented stores around the world, even at general mass retailers, like Wal-Mart and K-Mart.
Statistics show that the sales of toys and games have declined over the years. However, educational toys have been on the rise, as more parents opt to purchase products that would give them the most value for their money, as compared to, say, buying Bratz dolls and Hot Wheels.
The record for educational toys was broken in the Holiday season of the year 2000, when toy maker LeapFrog’s LeapPad Learning System electronic reading toy became the bestselling children’s game of the time, helping the company boost its sales by a whopping 120 per cent!
LeapFrog’s success paved the way for other major and small toy makers to come up with educational toys of their own. Jakks Pacific, under its Child Guidance brand, released its own line of children’s educational toys and games following a deal with Baby Genius. Hasbro released its Baby Einstein line and unveiled its preschool units, namely the Baby Einstein Company and Playskool. These new toys encouraged children to dabble in art, music, different foreign and local languages, and even poetry.
The strong demand for educational toys and games for children has urged major retailers, like Toys “R” Us, to allocate shelves upon shelves for these kinds of toys. And because more and more households are transforming into two-income families, it is likely that the demand will grow further as parents seek products that would try to fill their absence during their children’s formative learning years.
With the rise in demand, it won’t be a surprise when the price tag that comes with these educational toys and games will also decrease as the years pass. Right now, these kinds of toys are still a little expensive (though it hasn’t stopped most parents from buying them). In the future, due to the overwhelming interest, educational toys and games will be accessible to everyone.

How to Capture Your Wedding Day Memories
On the day you marry you feel you’ll never forget a second of it- The excitement, the happiness and the atmosphere will stay with you forever. But the truth is memories DO fade and there will be moments you completely forget as time passes. So how do you capture all those special and amazing aspects of your day, to cherish forever? Photographs obviously go a long way towards creating memories. They chart certain times in your day, and they are wonderful to look back at and relive the day, but they don’t capture everything. So here are some tips to help you make sure your memories stay alive.
1. Take time out- give yourself the odd couple of minutes during your wedding day, to stop and take in everything going on around you. Absorb what you see and hear, take it in and take a mental photograph. Stepping back, even briefly will help you remember.
2. Smell the Roses- at the start of your big day take a few moments to enjoy your wedding bouquet. Its feel, its look, its smell. Tell yourself that during the day you’ll occasionally stop and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of your bouquet. It will remind you to enjoy the moment, to live in the moment and not wish the day away.
3. Use a new fragrance- invest in a brand new perfume for your big day. Layer it by using the shower gel, the body lotion and the perfume. Wrapped in a beautiful new scent all day, you’ll really notice the fragrance, and every time you use it after your wedding day, you’ll be transported back to the most wonderful day of your life. Your new husband will also always associate the fragrance with the day of your marriage. It will always remind you of your perfect day.
4. Invest in the best photography you can afford- It may seem an extravagance when you are dividing up your budget, but choosing great photography will ensure many precious moments are recorded forever. They are also wonderful to look back on together with family and friends, long after your day has passed.
5. Choose significant music- Like scents, music can transport us to a specific time and place. Choose your music throughout the day with care. Make sure you pick songs and pieces which are special to you, have important lyrics or truly mean something to you both. Every time you hear those pieces of music in the future you’ll be instantly back on the day of your Wedding.
6. Keep a diary- Nothing will capture your memories, feelings and emotions better than writing them down, recording them in words. It’s the most personal of accounts and it’s from the heart. There is no better way to relive your day than through your own thoughts. You can write it up yourself or have your notes ghost written into a beautiful and truly unique memoir.

Lessons From Mackenzie
We recently returned from a trip to China. No, China isn’t exactly a destination location for us. It is the mother country of both of our daughters. Our recent trip was to adopt our second daughter, Raegan Jean. Our first daughter, Mackenzie, traveled with us. Even though I was not in touch with any of my mentors or coaches during this trip, I was coached and mentored on a daily basis by my beautiful four-year old daughter, Mackenzie.
We brought Mackenzie home from China when she was only 13 months old. So, theoretically, her USA way-of-life is all she’s really known. However, Mackenzie was completely at home and at peace while we were in China. I was amazed at the lack of stress or tension with this little one who doesn’t always take change well. She attacked China with a sense of curiosity and wonderment. While at the same time treating it with reverence and respect as if she fully understood this was the country of her fore-fathers.
We spent over two weeks in China. I often would watch Mackenzie in amazement. How is it that this 4 year old, while not totally oblivious to the obvious change in environment, was able to feel safe, secure, often adventurous, always curious, and serenely at peace. All the while Mom and Dad were outwardly stressed, a little unsure, unusually inhibited, and tense to the point of physical manifestation. While China was an adventure and a classroom in many ways to Mackenzie, Mom and Dad had a much different experience.
How often do we fail to see the adventure and learning in an experience, whether it be a trip, a job, or even a relationship just because of the perspective that we approached it? How often do we fail to leave the safety and comfort of our “home” to seek the growth that comes with adventure and a learning experience? Here are the things I realize that made this trip what it was for Mackenzie.
1. Set the stage - We talked as a family about this trip months in advance. We wanted to create in her mind exactly what she experienced to take the fear away. Unknowingly, we were setting the stage for her to have a curious adventure. Unfortunately, our self-talk was totally opposite. We created in our minds exactly what we experienced as well - stress, tension, discomfort, and inconvenience. Wonder what would have happened if we had created the same visualization for ourselves that we created for Mackenzie. What would happen in our business, relationships, our lives if we changed the perspective of our self-talk.
2. Re-create home - Mackenzie felt safe because she had what makes her feel safe at home - Mom and Dad, favorite music and movies, books, favorite bed-buddy, and favorite small toys. She re-created home as closely as possible to make herself feel more “at home” in China. What things do you need to “pack” in order to feel more “at home” in your next “trip”?
3. Can the filters - Mackenzie had no filters. For instance…the playground at the park was not exactly what you’d find here in the U.S. To Mackenzie, it was just playground equipment she could play on and she did. Mackenzie didn’t stop to think about “how was the food prepared?” when we ate. She just saw beef and noodles and knew she liked it. At Pizza Hut, she didn’t see Pizza Hut in China and wonder if it were different, she just saw the Pizza Hut brand and didn’t care what country it was in. What kinds of filters are you putting your adventure through? How many of those filters were created by you and how many by others?
4. It’s raining…so let’s sing rain songs - One day Mackenzie and I were enjoying a stroll on Shamian Island and the rain started to pour down. Instead of taking off running for shelter, Mackenzie said…”Mom, let’s sing songs about rain.” As a result we actually experienced a nice relaxing stroll through the rain as we sang our way to our hotel. How many times have you run for shelter as opposed to enjoying the rain?
Our second experience of China was personally more enjoyable than our first. Maybe because we had a great “guide” to help us truly “experience” China this time. When is your next adventure? Are you looking at it through stressful eyes and filters? Or, are you looking through the eyes of Mackenzie?
