On the day you marry you feel you’ll never forget a second of it- The excitement, the happiness and the atmosphere will stay with you forever. But the truth is memories DO fade and there will be moments you completely forget as time passes. So how do you capture all those special and amazing aspects of your day, to cherish forever? Photographs obviously go a long way towards creating memories. They chart certain times in your day, and they are wonderful to look back at and relive the day, but they don’t capture everything. So here are some tips to help you make sure your memories stay alive.
1. Take time out- give yourself the odd couple of minutes during your wedding day, to stop and take in everything going on around you. Absorb what you see and hear, take it in and take a mental photograph. Stepping back, even briefly will help you remember.
2. Smell the Roses- at the start of your big day take a few moments to enjoy your wedding bouquet. Its feel, its look, its smell. Tell yourself that during the day you’ll occasionally stop and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of your bouquet. It will remind you to enjoy the moment, to live in the moment and not wish the day away.
3. Use a new fragrance- invest in a brand new perfume for your big day. Layer it by using the shower gel, the body lotion and the perfume. Wrapped in a beautiful new scent all day, you’ll really notice the fragrance, and every time you use it after your wedding day, you’ll be transported back to the most wonderful day of your life. Your new husband will also always associate the fragrance with the day of your marriage. It will always remind you of your perfect day.
4. Invest in the best photography you can afford- It may seem an extravagance when you are dividing up your budget, but choosing great photography will ensure many precious moments are recorded forever. They are also wonderful to look back on together with family and friends, long after your day has passed.
5. Choose significant music- Like scents, music can transport us to a specific time and place. Choose your music throughout the day with care. Make sure you pick songs and pieces which are special to you, have important lyrics or truly mean something to you both. Every time you hear those pieces of music in the future you’ll be instantly back on the day of your Wedding.
6. Keep a diary- Nothing will capture your memories, feelings and emotions better than writing them down, recording them in words. It’s the most personal of accounts and it’s from the heart. There is no better way to relive your day than through your own thoughts. You can write it up yourself or have your notes ghost written into a beautiful and truly unique memoir.

Our wedding/vacation photos were ruined…advice?
We married in Vegas a week ago. We made keepsake boxes for 20 of our guests flying to Vegas for a vacation wedding. The boxes included 2 disposible cameras. One was to be used for the ceremony and one to capture memories from their vacation. We took 19 cameras to get developed and when the prints came back 14 of the rolls were totally unrecognizable. One roll was from a disposible camera that was a different brand than the other 14 rolls and 4 rolls were from my sisters camera, they came out fine. On the 14 rolls that were ruined it was obvious from the prints that the flash was defective. The cameras were all the same brand, came in a 3 pack and were bought at separate times and from different stores. We got our money back for the cameras and we got all the prints for free. We are totally devastated and we are going to ask the company for the maximum amount allowed in a small claims court which is $4,000. Disposibles should be reliable!! Do we have a strong enough case? HELP!!!
Yes, you got the shaft. But, simply asking for $4,000 in small claims court may not do it. You have to prove to the judge that you have damages. In your case one of your arguments (and perhaps your primary one) is that these defective cameras deprived you of having a photographic record of one of the most significant times in your life. The 4 rolls from your sisters camera that came out all right could cut across that argument, as you do have quite a few pics from her.
Just some food for thought. Can’t say where your claim would end up.

Congratulations on your recent marriage!
Hope you saved all of the receipts from the purchase of the cameras and any other documentation you can think of. I hope you get a good settlement. Since the pix from your sisters camera came out fine, it sounds logical that the disposable cameras were faulty.
Unfortunately, the fact that the cameras are cheaply made
and are classified as "disposable" it sounds almost unrealistic to hope that they are also reliable. Get a good attorney and see what he/she says.
All the best to you and your new hubby in your happy new marriage.
Good luck in court, too.
